June 28th, 2010 Wow, I'm sure glad I didn't have to wait til today to have him!

Spencer had a little Jaundice, so now he gets to wear these cool shades!

They turned him on his side, so we got some good pictures of him pulling faces!

Levi snapped a picture of me asleep! I was exhausted!

Updates on Spencer...

Here you can see that Spence is taking a binky (thank goodness, because apparently I never would), he definitely has no problem sucking, in fact the nurses got a picture of him holding on to his ventilation tube just so that he could stick his thumb in his mouth... It was too cute! They have put in a temporary drain into his head, and as you can see that his head has shrunk quite a bit. He has gone from 8lbs 6oz to 7lbs 7oz most of that weight has been lost because of the fluid draining out of his head. The doctors are expecting to turn him over onto his back on the 30th and then after that they will probably wait another week to put the shunt in his head. I am definitely learning patience, cause I really really want to hold him, but I am glad that he is healing so well. He is also peeing on his own, without the catheter, which is really good news! I couldn't be happier with the care he is being given! Levi and I feel very confident that he is in very good hands here at this hospital!

Little Spencer has Arrived!

Levi and I are so so happy for our new little addition to our family! Spencer Levi Darrington was born June 23rd, 2010 at 3:52 am. He weighs 8lbs 6oz and is 18 1/4 inches long. So I know that we were all expecting him to be here the 28th but I think he had plans of his own. I started to feel abdominal pain at about 7:30 on Tues night, I didn't think much of it because it seemed like every time I thought I was having contractions, it was just cramps. So it wasn't until around 11:00 when they still hadn't gone away and were actually getting worse, that I started to worry. After much debate, we decided, better to be safe than sorry, so we called the on call doctor. He of course told us to come to the hospital... so we did! I was definitely having contractions and was dilated 1cm, so they decided to do an emergency c-section.
I am so glad to let you all know that everything went smoothly, with no complications. He had surgery to close up his back yesterday afternoon, and he is recovering well from that too! I want all of you to know how grateful we are for your thoughts and prayers, I know they are being heard, and that the Lord is watching over him!
He is so cute!

This is my first visit to see Spencer after his surgery!

Little guy has already been through so much, and not even been here a day yet! He's tough!

Spencers little room...Also other pics of our new home!

Here's a bunch of pics I took of our new townhouse, for those who have been begging to see them! I didn't take any of the basement, because we had a little floodige go on down there, so it is a work in progress!
I am so grateful for the wonderful ward we live in. We have been blessed with so many good friends, who want to help us out! Kate Downs a friend in our ward, gave us her crib and dresser, she is such a sweetheart! Also, I had yet another awesome baby shower here! So between the shower I had at home in Utah, and here, we will definitely be able to get everything we need! Thank you so much to all my wonderful family and friends! I love you all so much!
Now that I have the crib set up, and almost everything we need for Spencer, I am getting sooooo excited to welcome him into our little home! I just can't wait!
